The Impact of ESP Strategies on Reflective Thinking, Academic Self-Efficacy, and Achievement Motivation: A Qualitative Study
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This study investigates the role of Educational Support Strategies (ESP) in shaping reflective thinking, academic self-efficacy, and achievement motivation among university students.Through an eight-month qualitative exploration involving 30 participants, data from semi-structured interviews, reflective journals, and behavioral observations were analyzed using thematic and discourse analysis. Results demonstrate that ESP strategies-goal management, peer modeling, and structured reflection-significantly enhance self-efficacy and motivation by fostering meta cognitive awareness.Reflective thinking mediated 42% of ESP's impact on academic outcomes, with gender and disciplinary differences in intervention efficacy underscoring the need for adaptive frameworks.
