Abstract: Pb 8 O 4 I 6 (CN 2 ) features heterocubane-like [Pb 4 O 4 ] units interconnected by iodide and carbodiimide ligands. The material is air-stable, shows n-type semiconducting behavior for photoanodes, and exhibits green photoluminescence at low temperatures.
