Abstract: • The first reported chromosome-level haplotype-resolved reference genome ( Prunus spinulosa ) of the subgenus Laurocerasus. • P. spinulosa show highly conserved structure with preserved syntenic blocks with closely related species. • High-quality protein structure annotation provides a valuable polyploid reference genome to resolve remaining phylogenetic issues in Prunus s.l. and explore biosynthetic pathway.
