Abstract: The interpretation of the concept of «development concept of military pedagogy» as a systemic vision of the current and future state of military pedagogy based on qualitative changes in the attributes of this science under the influence of the conditions of the corresponding stage of development of society is proposed. The concept of military pedagogy is defined as the science of the purpose, tasks, content of military education, organization of the educational process in institutions of the security and defense sector. The object of military pedagogy is understood as the educational process as a system of scientific, pedagogical and methodological measures aimed at the development of the personality through the formation of competencies. The subject is educational activity regarding the organization and implementation of the educational process; regularities of training and education of military personnel and military collectives; the corresponding system of training and teaching and the system of scientific work. The components of military pedagogy are identified: the theory of еducation / training (special / military didactics) and the theory of upbringing (military upbringing) of military personnel and military collectives. It is noted that the achievement of the goal of military pedagogy as a science is ensured by the implementation of a set of tasks to increase the effectiveness of personnel training for the security and defense sector. It is noted that due to the constant growth of requirements for the competencies of a graduate of a military education institution, the list of tasks of military pedagogy is regularly expanding. The relevant tasks are systematized into three groups regarding the development of: issues of ensuring the quality of educational activities and the quality of military education, academic freedom and academic virtue; separate aspects of educational activities in educational institutions of the security and defense sector (special forms of obtaining education and methods and technologies of learning and teaching; features of organizing scientific work etc.); specific issues of education and training for the security and defense sector (foreign language training, formation of soft skills, military leadership).
