Abstract: The review of the graduate profiles reported by eighteen higher education institutions was carried out, all of them have a career identified as “Químico Farmacobiólogo” or one of the names that in the catalog of recognized subjects in Mexico are considered as similar to this area. From the comparative profiles, we analyzed the common areas of knowledge, those that distinguish each program, as well as emerging areas that may be presented in the teaching of this educational program, to conclude from the sociology of occupations whether or not graduates of these educational programmes can be considered as professionals from the written definition of the concept.
