Abstract: In an era of rapid globalization and urban homogenization, preserving regional identity and cultural expression is more crucial than ever. This research paper explores the architectural embodiment of Telugu culture through the proposed thesis project "Aalaya -The Telugu Cultural Centre."Rooted in the concepts of Nava Rasa (the nine emotions) and Kalapatham (the rhythm of arts), the design seeks to become a vibrant public realm where tradition meets modernity. This paper examines the importance of cultural spaces in reviving endangered art forms, nurturing community engagement, and offering modern yet rooted spaces for learning, performance, and celebration.Through a mixed-method approach involving literature review, case studies, site analysis, and conceptual development, the paper outlines a comprehensive framework for translating intangible cultural heritage into tangible, interactive architectural experiences.
