Abstract: High Resolution Image Download MS PowerPoint Slide The natural world and human civilization face serious threats from global warming caused by increasing anthropogenic carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions. In this study, we examine the optimization of operating parameters within mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) using NH 2 -MIL-125(Ti), a metal–organic framework (MOF) dispersed within a polysulfone (PSf) polymer matrix to achieve efficient CO 2 /CH 4 separation. Sustainable CO 2 capture is the motivation behind this study, which aims to improve the membrane technology using the response surface methodology (RSM). RSM was applied (a statistical and mathematical technique) to explore the relationships among the operating parameters (temperature, feed pressure, and CO 2 feed composition) that influence membrane performance and to develop an optimal model. The optimal combination of variables is determined when they are predicted individually in the optimized model, creating optimal conditions for high CO 2 efficiency. The results of this study will enable the development of efficient and sustainable CO 2 capture technology, promoting environmental sustainability.
