Democratização e inclusão escolar espaços e contextos de participação dos estudantes nas organizações escolares em Portugal

Abstract: This article analyses how participatoryexperiences in and out of school are related to more inclusive pathways and democratic citizenship. Based on data from a national survey of 10th grade students (n = 241.341) administered in 2008, 2011, 2014 and 2017, the parƟcipatory experiences of young people in school and non-school contexts are analysed. The results show the persistence of inequalities associated with socio-economic origin and gender, exposing the limitations of spaces for parƟcipaƟon and questioning the democratising role of schools.
