Abstract: The quality of life of people with chronic kidney disease (CKD), especially those on dialysis, is greatly impacted by this degenerative illness. One popular instrument for evaluating health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in a variety of patient populations, including those with chronic kidney disease, is the SF-36 Health Survey. In order to evaluate the complex effects of CKD and its treatment on the physical, mental, and social well-being of dialysis patients, this study looks at their SF-36 scores. The results show that dialysis patients' quality of life is greatly impacted by their major physical constraints, weariness, discomfort, and social isolation. The domains most affected were pain, energy/fatigue, physical functioning, and social functioning; many patients reported moderate to severe deficits in these areas. Perceptions of overall health and emotional well-being were likewise significantly lower than those of the general population. The study emphasizes the value of all-encompassing care plans that take into account the psychological as well as the physical components of dialysis treatment. Improving these patients' quality of life requires effective therapies, such as pain management, psychosocial support, and physical therapy. This study demonstrates the SF-36's usefulness as a tool for assessing HRQoL in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and offers insightful information about areas that need improvement in order to improve patient care.
