Study design: Case Report
Abstract: Alopecia areata (AA) is an autoimmune dermatosis that causes nonscarring hair loss on the scalp and/or body. Although AA has been identified as a polygenic disease, environmental factors are thought to be a major pathogenetic trigger for AA. We hereby report a unique case of identical twins with simultaneously appearing identical AA.
