Abstract: Significant progress has been made recently in the field of international conventions and EU rules on automated driving. However, these rules only cover certain sub-areas, while the related general rules related to automated driving levels 3, 4 and 5 are outside this scope. Regarding the individual national rules in this area, the German legislation is currently the most modern general regulation, and it is worth examining the process that led to its creation. This study will be followed by further studies in this area
