Abstract: To determine the prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome in the population aged 20 to 59 years at the HGZMF No. 12. An observational, descriptive, prospective, and cross-sectional study was conducted among male and female beneficiaries aged 20 to 59 years from February to July 2025 at the General Zone Hospital/Family Medicine No. 12 of the Mexican Social Security Institute in Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán. A data collection instrument was completed, consisting of two sections: the first for general data and the second for clinical factors, through a review of the patient's medical record. 500 participants met the criteria for metabolic syndrome, with a prevalence of 22.5%. The average age range was 41 to 59 years. The female gender predominated (51.8%), with a high school education (36.6%), and an active worker (32.8%). The prevalence of metabolic syndrome in the HGZ/MF No. 12 Lázaro Cárdenas was 22.5%, with a female predominance.
