Clinical and Echocardiographic Outcomes After Percutaneous Closure of Congenital Aorto-atrial Fistula- Case Report

Type: preprint
Study design: Case Report
Abstract: Aorto-atrial fistula is a rare anomaly causing right-sided overload, heart failure, and arrhythmias. A 58-year-old male presented with congestive heart failure and atrial arrhythmia. Multimodality imaging showed right atrial and ventricular dilation with continuous flow; angiography confirmed an aorto-atrial fistula. Transcatheter closure using a vascular plug via an arterio-venous loop achieved partial occlusion. At nine months, the patient was asymptomatic, in sinus rhythm, and had improved echocardiographic findings .
