Healthy eating and environmental education topics in Pedagogic Policies Projects at Colégio Estadual Adolfo Bezerra de Menezes, Araguaína, Tocantins, Brazil

Abstract: Public policies are fundamental to motivate healthy eating habits and environmental education (EE) in Brazil, including the National School Feeding Program, the Food Acquisition Program and the National Policy for Environmental Education. The aim of the present work is to identify actions concerning healthy eating and if these are associated with environmental ideas on pedagogic policies projects (PPCs) at Colégio Estadual Adolfo Bezerra de Menezes, Araguaína, Tocantins, Brazil. This research is documental and uses analysis of PPCs content from 2018 to 2023. After the analysis, it was observed several actions about healthy eating throughout the years, as well as actions about EE; however, there is a gap in their integration. Actions related to EE at schools are strict and isolated, focusing on environmental preservation and sustainable practices in general, without establishing a direct connection with consuming and wasting food.
