Abstract: The 53rd issue of Financial Innovation (FIN), Volume 11, No. 5 (2025), features 21 papers that can be classified into four main themes: the Special Issue on The Anomie of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Finance: Bridging the Gap Between Technical Power and Human Wisdom, and Financial Markets and Investments, Economic and Policy Analysis, Corporate Governance and Related Market Dynamics.• The Anomie of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Finance: Bridging the Gap Between Technical Power and Human Wisdom Globally, universities are systematically defunding the humanities and shifting resources to technology fields, reflecting a worrying trend. This shift stems from a misconception that "the humanities are useless" in an AI-driven era. However, this is precisely the "AI paradox": the more advanced AI becomes, the more urgent the need for the humanities, not less.AI excels in areas with strict rules and verifiable answers, such as mathematics and programming, but struggles with the ambiguity, diverse perspectives, and qualitative analysis inherent in the humanities.Recent evidence shows that AI has "humanistic blind spots"; it can distort history, exhibit Western-centric bias, and, without the ethical and contextual grounding provided by the humanities, subtly rewrite our past. This has led to a state of "anomie of AI," where technological progress outpaces our wisdom to govern it responsibly. If AI is to genuinely benefit humanity, it must be deeply rooted in an understanding of human values, culture, and meaning, not just computational power.Lacking this intellectual foundation, AI will reinforce existing prejudices rather than advance human flourishing. This special issue aims to invigorate academic research on AI by presenting timely new findings and novel research opportunities on topics related to artificial intelligence in the financial sector. It seeks to bridge the gap between AI's technological development and its practical application, while also bringing attention to more pressing and novel issues
