Lanthanide complexes bearing a bioinspired Cu II binding site with picomolar affinity: synthesis, structural, relaxometric and luminescence studies

Abstract: Two Ln III -DO3A-C3AmpicGH complexes (Ln III = Gd III , Eu III ) exhibit high affinity for Cu II and high selectivity over Zn II . The Eu III complex shows a luminescence turn-off response upon Cu II binding, whereas the Gd III complex remains silent.
