Type: article
Study design: Clinical Trial
Abstract: This study aimed to examine the effects of team-based learning activities using ChatGPT on nursing students' artificial intelligence (AI) literacy, critical thinking disposition, and problem-solving ability.A one-group pretest-posttest design was employed with 60 third-year nursing students enrolled in a community health nursing course. The intervention consisted of team-based learning activities utilizing ChatGPT.Data were collected using structured self-assessment instruments measuring the three variables before and after the intervention. The results showed statistically significant improvements in AI literacy.Specifically, significant gains were observed in AI utilization, impact analysis, problem-solving, and ethical thinking, although no significant change was observed in AI knowledge.Critical thinking disposition also significantly increased, with improvements noted in intellectual passion/curiosity, confidence, systematicity, intellectual fairness, and objectivity. However, prudence and healthy skepticism did not show significant changes.Problem-solving ability was significantly enhanced, particularly in alternative development, planning/implementation, and performance evaluation domains. These findings suggest that integrating ChatGPT into team-based learning activities can effectively develop essential competencies required for future nursing professionals in digital healthcare environments.Future research should employ a control group with diverse samples and utilize replication approaches to establish more generalizable findings. In addition, there is a need to develop systematic educational strategies for the ethical integration of AI in nursing education.
