Can the transformational leadership style improve work ethics and organizational citizenship behavior?

Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: The study aimed to examine the impact of transformational leadership on the work ethics and organizational citizenship behavior of the employees. To deepen the concept of the study, the literature was reviewed. The study utilized descriptive assessment and a correlational research design. The population was all the employees of the Divine Word College of Laoag. The data were gathered through questionnaires, and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The study found that transformational leadership style is not associated with or correlated with work ethics and organizational citizenship behavior. Thus, the hypothesis is rejected. The study recommends further research to include more variables, such as organizational culture and individual work values, as predictors of work ethics and organizational citizenship behavior, rather than relying solely on transformational leadership style.
