Abstract: The Gruža Reservoir represents a key water resource in central Serbia, playing a significant role in water supply and flood protection. The management of this reservoir faces numerous problems and challenges, including water quality preservation, pollution control, and compliance with the applicable legal and institutional framework. This paper aims to analyze these challenges, considering the legal, environmental, and social aspects of the management of the Gruža Reservoir. Special emphasis is placed on identifying problems in practice and proposing solutions that enable the sustainable and responsible use of this important resource.
