Abstract: The article explores the effectiveness of various methods for engaging university students aged 18–19 in dragon boat rowing. Special attention is paid to modern motivation strategies, including social media, school sports programs, community events, and specialized sports camps. The relevance of this study is driven by the need to create an adapted, scientifically grounded training program that takes into account the specific characteristics of the 18–19 age group and the cultural context of student youth. This approach aims not only to enhance physical fitness and motivation for rowing but also to foster sustainable health-preserving habits, which is particularly important in modern sports practice. The purpose of the study: the aim of the study is to develop and justify a health and recreational program in dragon boat rowing for university students. Methodology. The research involved a survey of 30 students from the National University of Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine (NUFESU), who were undergoing practical training in the field of dragonboat. Their motivational factors, interest levels, and methods of engagement in the training process were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative indicators. Conclusions: the results show that the integration of traditional Chinese culture with modern technologies, particularly digital platforms, significantly increases young people's interest in this sport. The most effective methods were practical sessions that combined personal rowing experience with the development of team interaction and social support. The article also discusses the main barriers that limit youth participation in rowing and proposes solutions to overcome them. Overall, the results emphasize the necessity of a comprehensive approach that combines traditional teaching methods with innovative technologies to ensure sustained interest and involvement of university students in dragonboat .
