Abstract: This protocol outline steps for properly collecting adult Nematoceran flies from the families Culicidae (mosquitoes), Ceratopogonidae (biting midges), and Psychodidae (sand flies) from the environment to evaluate the risk of zoonotic disease transmission by the detection of pathogens from arthropod nucleic acid.
