Abstract: Description: Wechsler Nonverbal Scale of Ability (WNV) was published in the US in 2006. The Norwegian edition was published in 2008. The Norwegian and international owner is Pearson Assessment. WNV was edited by Katarina Forssén and Marie Kristoffersen and translated to Norwegian by Tone Anderssen. WNV is a test of intellectual abilities for children aged 4:0 to 7.11 years, and 8:0 to 21:11 years. WNV was developed to assess children and youth with language impairment or no verbal language. The test can be conducted with 4 or 2 subtests for each age group. The specific subtests that can be administered depends on the child’s or youth’s age. Psychologists and other professionals with specific degrees and courses within pedagogy are qualified to buy and conduct the test. Literature search: The literature search yielded 188 results. After screening articles based on title, abstract and in some cases full text (13 articles and 1 master thesis), none met the inclusion criteria. Psychometrics: No articles describing norm data, validity or reliability for a Scandinavian context could be found. Conclusion: There is a need for research examining the validity, reliability and norm data for a Scandinavian context.
