Salud mental y autocuidado en mujeres posparto: revisión actual del rol de las tecnologías móviles en el seguimiento materno
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Postpartum care is a critical stage of maternal health, traditionally less prioritized compared to pregnancy and childbirth. Objective: To review recent scientific literature on postnatal care, focusing on self-care, mental health, and mobile technologies. Methodology: A narrative review of 40 studies (2014–2024) was conducted using databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, SciELO, and Redalyc, with keywords like “postpartum care,” “maternal health,” and “telemedicine.” Results: Adoption of WHO guidelines is associated with greater postnatal care coverage and lower maternal mortality (95% implementation in Western Europe). Digital interventions reduce depressive symptoms by up to 38% and show 85% user satisfaction. Factors such as low education, Indigenous ethnicity, and rural residence increase the risk of limited care access (OR: 1.5–2.1). Conclusion: Strengthening postnatal care requires inclusive, technological, and equitable approaches, highlighting the need for inclusive health policies
