Unveiling the dynamics of organizational climate in educational institutions: A systematic synthesis of influences and components

Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Systematic Review
Abstract: This systematic literature review (SLR) explores the multifaceted role of organizational climate in educational management and its impact on teachers, students, and institutional performance. The study aims to address the lack of a comprehensive framework by examining two key questions: 1. What are the factors influencing the organizational climate in educational institutions? 2. What are its potential future research directions? Following PRISMA guidelines, this study systematically reviewed literature from 2019 to 2024, selecting 37 relevant articles from Scopus and Web of Science (WoS). Thematic analysis was conducted to identify the core dimensions of organizational climate, with iterative refinements informed by the researcher's insights. The review identified seven key dimensions of organizational climate: organizational norms, leadership, interpersonal relationships, autonomy and collaboration, support mechanisms, physical environment, and contextual factors. Leadership emerged as a critical determinant, influencing the perceptions of both teachers and students based on individual needs. Future studies should explore theoretical advancements in each dimension and assess their practical application in school management. This study highlights the dynamic nature of organizational climate and its essential role in fostering effective educational environments. Providing a structured framework for understanding organizational climate, this study advances theoretical discourse while offering actionable recommendations for school leaders. It serves as a foundation for future research and policy development aimed at enhancing educational quality through improved organizational climate management.
