Abstract: This article features the transcript of a conversation with three past presidents of a state student affairs professional association. The conversation offers their motivations to pursue the presidency, responsibilities they performed as part of the position, challenges they experienced while in the role, and the skills, knowledge, and experiences that prepared them for the presidency. The conversation is followed by a discussion of how their experiences fit within the limited research on professional association presidents along with a summary of their advice for other professionals who may want to pursue the presidency of a student affairs professional association.
