Abstract: Drug is one of the pillars of the Chikitsa’s Chatushpada, as mentioned in our texts. The main reason behind the cure of a disease is its Samprapti Vighatana; hence, the drug should be selected keeping this fact in mind. An herbal drug commonly known as Shirisha (Albizia lebbeck) is a miraculous drug mentioned in the samhitas, which has a vast area of use due to its antitoxic potential. It is explained in Kushtha, Kandu, Visarpa, Pama, Vrana, Shotha, Sarpadamsha Mushaka Visha, Sheetapitta, and Rakta Dushti.
