Abstract: The Ottoman Empire's success owes much to its tradition of scholarship, which was formed by blending culture, art, and literature. Within this tradition, Ottoman culture and civilization produced numerous scholars and poets. One of them is Sünbülzâde Vehbî Efendi from Maraş. Sünbülzâde Vehbî Efendi received his initial education in Maraş. He grew up in a family with a tradition of scholarship and state service. Sünbülzâde Vehbî Efendi held many state positions, such as the Rumelian clerkship and judgeship. Having taken lessons from the famous scholars of Maraş, Vehbî went to Istanbul to further educate and improve himself. Sünbülzâde Vehbî is among the Turkish poets who wrote observation-based poems. He also adopted the Nâbi tradition. In this study, the life of Sünbülzâde Vehbî, one of the representatives of Classical Turkish literature, is examined, and his view of science and scholars in his work Lütfiyye, which he dedicated to his son Lütfullah, is analyzed in detail with separate headings and illustrated with explanatory couplets. Additionally, the branches of science mentioned in the work are discussed and explained under separate headings.
