Abstract: This study aims to identify activities related to the aestheticization of contemporary urban space, such as Lublin, a city with a rich history and regional significance located in a peripheral area not far from the eastern border of the European Union. The research analyzed planning and strategic documents as well as revitalization investments. In addition, residents’ participatory initiatives were examined, including activities within the Green Citizens’ Budget framework. Finally, reference was made, among other things, to the reform of the spatial planning system in Poland. The importance of the aesthetic education of the public and the development of a space culture was emphasized. The research was mainly qualitative. The results indicate that there has been significant progress in the revitalization of public spaces, which has translated into improvements in the aesthetics and functionality of the city. However, the lack of an advertising resolution, and investment pressure on valuable landscape areas remain problematic. The involvement of residents in participatory processes, which strengthened co-responsibility for the shaping of urban space, was also appreciated. The aestheticization of public spaces in Lublin has contributed to improving residents’ quality of life and the city’s image while emphasizing the need for effective dialogue between authorities, residents, and investors.
