Abstract: Many studies aim to compare the efficiency of libraries and other study areas for university students. The failure of students to adequately utilize library resources and the difficulties in accessing these resources indicate that improvements are necessary to enhance the efficiency of libraries. This study aims to examine the focus and efficiency levels of medical students in different study environments. The effects of quiet study environments and individual versus group study habits are being investigated. Additionally, the impact of the library environment on motivation has also been considered. In the research, a cross-sectional study was planned, and a survey was utilized to assess the focus and efficiency levels of the participants. The results demonstrate that quiet and individual study environments are perceived as the most productive by medical students. A strong positive correlation was found between focus levels in quiet environments and individual study performance (r = 0,442). Group study sessions, while associated with increased motivation due to social interaction, were linked to lower efficiency levels compared to individual study. It has been determined that the comfort of the study environment positively affects students' efficiency (r = 0,266). Finally, medical students who can concentrate well in quiet environments were found to be more successful in individual study efficiency, motivation, and studying during early hours (p < 0,05). This study reveals that students' preferences for study areas and styles have a significant impact on their academic success.
