Some theses of the theory of Multi-level nature (Multi-levelness) of business model. Part 1
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: He relevance of the research presented in the article stems from the fact that there is a lack of theoretical justification for the phenomenon of business modeling. According to numerous foreign and Russian scholars, indepth and comprehensive research is needed to establish clarity regarding how the business model differs from strategy and how these concepts are related in theory and practice as well as in strategic goals. Additionally, it is necessary to clarify several other aspects of business modeling for which there has not been a theoretical solution established in science to date. Therefore, the aim of the study, whose results are presented in this article, is to further develop the theory of the multi-level (multi-dimensional) nature of the business model, including the attempt to provide a theoretical basis for the relationship between business models, strategic goals, and organizational strategies, as well as to propose ways of applying these concepts in practical work. Part 1 of the paper provides an explanation of the significance of the research, its theoretical underpinning, and a description of the materials and methods employed. The methodological foundation of the study is based on the specified theory and previous theories of strategic planning and management. The information basis consists of data from international and Russian scholarly publications, as well as materials collected by the researcher: the outcomes of 297 projects in business modeling and strategic planning completed between January 1st, 2021 and December 31st, 2024, along with the findings from 40 indepth interviews. As a result of this study, which this paper is part of, propositions are proposed that supplement the theory of the multi-dimensional nature (multilevelness) of the business model and determine the connection between the business model, strategy, and strategic goals of an organization.
