Abstract: 607 Background: We report preliminary results from a pilot study prospectively evaluating the RWJBH experience with Philips Clinical Pathways (Philips) integration as an oncology decision support system within EPIC EHR. We note three main areas of improvement affecting patient care: physician adoption, “On-Pathway” adherent navigations, and decreased time to authorization. Methods: We infused large language models (LLM) and EPIC queries into our path analysis of clinical workflows, decision-making, and clinical trial matching. Results: Over the last 12 months, physician utilization has increased by 77%, with a total of 1026 navigations. The most navigated pathway was for genitourinary cancers, representing 23% of all navigations, followed by breast cancer (20%), gastrointestinal cancer (17%), and lung cancer (16%). Over 863 “On-Pathway” patient-specific navigations have been completed (84% of total) across all cancer types; 163 (16%) were designated as either “Clinical Trial” in 5% (n=50), “Off-Pathway” in 7% (n=74), or “Non-Pathway Diagnosis” in 4% (n=39). The 5 most frequent “On-Pathway” regimen selections are identified in the Table. We noted decreased time to authorization of treatment regimens for “On-Pathway” navigated patients. Conclusions: Real-world experience with voluntary use of an oncology decision support system demonstrates improvement in care coordination and management. We continue evaluations of patient care trajectories across treatment and survivorship, and for screening and enrollment to integrated cancer clinical trials. Additional data to be presented.
