Desplazamiento perpetuo en la caleidoscópica brevedad de Enrique Vila-Matas (1982-2011)
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Based on the questioning of the boundaries established in literary matters between the real and the fictional, the narrative work of Enrique Vila-Matas challenges conventional linear narratives, prioritizing the boundaries between genres and exploring brevity as a narrative strategy and literary way of life. This transgression is centrally manifested in his insistence on multiple textuality, generic hybridity, and the disintegration of identity. His novels often adopt fragmentary structures, which reflect the disintegration of the world and the ruptured identity of the subject. We analyze these questions from the beginnings of his narrative work to the first decade of the 21st century.
