Construcción narrativa de una identidad transcultural chicana a través de los relatos de «Memorias del silencio»
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Narrative identity, which combines psychology, narratology, and cognitive science, is used to analyze individual and group realities through identity narratives, known as master narratives. This article analyzes texts by Chicano authors in the Texan magazine Memorias del silencio: Footprints of the Borderland to identify their transcultural identity. The results highlight border crossing as a common theme, refuting the American dream, as motivations vary between persecution and escape; and the outcomes include both successes and failures, generating a nostalgic feeling for the past.
