POTENCIAL ALELOPÁTICO DE EXTRATOS FOLIARES DE Anacardium humile (ANACARDIACEAE) SOB VARIAÇÕES DE INTENSIDADE LUMINOSA

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This study aimed to evaluate the allelopathic potential of foliar extracts of Anacardium humile under different light intensities (sun and shade leaves), through bioassays using wheat coleoptiles (Triticum aestivum). Leaf morphological traits, photosynthetic pigment concentrations, and the phytotoxic effects of the extracts at three concentrations (200, 400, and 800 ppm) were analyzed. The results indicated that sun leaves exhibited greater area, biomass, and pigment concentrations (chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, and carotenoids), while shade leaves showed a higher specific leaf area (SLA). Although the bioassays revealed variations in coleoptile responses depending on leaf origin and extract concentration, no significant inhibitory effects were observed. These findings suggest that A. humile may prioritize resource allocation toward growth and development rather than the production of secondary metabolites with allelopathic potential.
