Abstract: The behaviour of two-way waffle slabs with an eccentric aperture is studied in this paper. Basalt textile reinforced mortar (BTRM) was used to externally reinforce these slabs under simply supported boundary circumstances. The samples had measurements of 1050 x 1050 mm, with a particular topping thickness of 50 mm and joist size of 100 × 50 mm. The joists' bottoms had 1/8 mm of steel reinforcement, while the tops had mesh measuring 6 mm at 75 mm c/c. Results showed that warping the catted ribs using the basalt fibre reinforced mortar approach greatly improved ductility and increased flexural strength when reinforcing ribs cut with square and circular openings.
