Abstract: Since the first human being, Almighty Allah has invited people to monotheism and goodness through prophets, messengers and books. However, while there were those who followed this invitation, there were also those who did not. Since human history, there have been people among both groups who regret it, some in this world and some at the time of death or in the afterlife. This study, titled "Confession and Regret in the Quran", which we will evaluate, was written by Hayri Erenay, and the phenomenon of regret, which is still up to date, is examined from a Quran-centered perspective. The work is the form in which the author revised and published his doctoral thesis completed in 2018. The study, which deals with the phenomenon of regret in detail, consists of an introduction and three chapters. The introduction of the study is presented under two main headings: "The Importance and Purpose of the Subject" and "Evaluation of the Methods and Sources Followed". In the first chapter, under the title of "Regret as a Human Phenomenon", the nature of regret, its natural basis and reasons, and its consequences in the context of sin and law are discussed. In the second section, the conceptual framework on the subject is presented. In the last chapter, the regrets of the prophets, previous ummahs, companions and belief groups were evaluated in a wide range in the context of the verses. In addition to being a work that tafsir researchers can benefit from, the work appeals to a wide audience thanks to its subject, content and fluent style. It is important that the work focuses on an issue that covers all of humanity and that it guides the present day by explaining the issues that people regret from the past to the present.
