First Report of Intervertebral Disc Calcification in a Black Child in Sub‐Saharan Africa

Abstract: We report an intervertebral disc calcification in a Black African child who had consulted us for neck pain. The diagnosis of C2-C3 intervertebral disc calcification was made on a standard X-ray and CT scan. Treatment was exclusively conservative. Intervertebral disc calcifications in children are rare and benign, requiring long-term monitoring.
