Abstract: Over the past five years, the BRICS countries have actively worked to develop and implement joint measures to mitigate climate change and adapt to other environmental risks. However, achieving significant results in these areas is impossible without the use of modern economic tools to financially support environmental and climate initiatives. This study examines the challenges and opportunities associated with the development and implementation of economic policies that aim to maximize the environmental potential of the BRICS countries. The paper proposes solutions to create a unified methodology for assessing ecosystem services within the BRICS framework, reveals the potential for creating a joint market and development fund for the BRICS ecosystem services, and describes the most promising economic tools that can be used to attract investments and rationally implement environmental projects.
