Reciprocal space mapping of X-ray Laue diffraction in perfect and wedge multilayers

Abstract: Numerical simulation of the X-ray Laue diffraction intensity distribution in reciprocal space from perfect and wedge multilayers was performed. It is shown that for spatially bounded X-ray beams, diffraction at the edges of collimators or slits in the diffraction scheme should be taken into account. A comparison of numerical reciprocal space mapping simulations using the geometrical optics approximation and the Fresnel approximation was conducted.
