The Impact of Lifestyle Modification on Andrological Health: A Cross-Sectional Study of Diet, Exercise, and Hypertension Management

Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Systematic Review
Abstract: This study aims to explore the impact of lifestyle modifications—specifically diet, exercise, and hypertension management—on male reproductive health through a qualitative literature review. A systematic selection of 10 peer-reviewed articles published between 2000 and 2023 was conducted, focusing on how changes in diet, physical activity, and hypertension control influence key reproductive health outcomes, including sperm quality, erectile function, and testosterone levels. The findings indicate that a diet rich in antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids significantly improves sperm motility and morphology, while regular physical exercise enhances erectile function and sperm quality. Furthermore, effective hypertension management, through both medication and lifestyle changes, is shown to alleviate erectile dysfunction and improve sperm quality. These lifestyle modifications, when implemented collectively, have a synergistic effect, leading to better reproductive health outcomes. The review underscores the importance of adopting a holistic approach to male reproductive health, integrating dietary, physical, and medical interventions. Given the rising prevalence of male reproductive issues worldwide, this research highlights the potential of lifestyle interventions as a preventive and therapeutic strategy for improving andrological health. The findings provide a foundation for further studies on the long-term impact of these interventions and their mechanisms in improving male reproductive health.
