Brachytherapy for choroidal metastasis secondary to primary urethral adenocarcinoma of Müllerian origin: A case report
Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Case Report
Abstract: Purpose: To report a case of choroidal metastasis originating from primary urethral adenocarcinoma of Müllerian origin. Case presentation: A 67-year-old female patient with a history of primary urethral adenocarcinoma presented with progressive pain, flashes, and floaters in her right eye, prompting ophthalmic evaluation. Imaging, including fundus examination, ultrasonography, and optical coherence tomography, revealed an amelanotic choroidal mass associated with subretinal fluid. Biopsy confirmed choroidal metastasis from primary urethral adenocarcinoma. Tumor regression was achieved after brachytherapy. Conclusion: This case highlights the atypical metastatic behavior of urethral adenocarcinoma and emphasizes vigilance in recognizing potential ocular involvement in patients with rare malignancies. Further research is warranted to improve diagnosis and treatment. Categories: Oncology, Ophthalmology, Pathology.
