Increased uric acid levels in obesity are caused by increased activity of pro-inflammatory cytokines produced by adipose tissue. High uric acid levels in obesity can certainly pose a risk of cardiovascular diseases that can occur especially in someone who is obese. The relative risk for hypertension in obese people is 5 times higher than someone who has a normal weight. This study aims to determine uric acid levels and blood pressure in obese patients and to determine the relationship between uric acid levels and blood pressure in obese patients with analytical survey research methods, while the examination method uses the uricase enzymatic method. The results of this study showed that there were high uric acid levels or hyperuricemia as many as 15 respondents (46.80%) and 17 respondents (53.20%) had normal uric acid levels. It is known that the pre-hypertension group pressure amounted to 9 respondents (28.10%), the hyperuricemia group amounted to 9 respondents (28.20%) and normal blood pressure amounted to 14 respondents (43.70%). There is a significant relationship between uric acid levels and blood pressure in obese patients, this result is by the SPSS program using the Rank Spearman statistical test obtained a sig value. 0,000 < 0,05.
