Abstract: Cervical cancer represents one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality among women, particularly in developing countries. This article aims to analyse effective prevention strategies based on health promotion, early detection, and vaccination against the human papillomavirus (HPV). A literature review of scientific articles and official documents from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health of Panama was conducted. The findings highlight the importance of integrating community education, timely screening, and vaccination as fundamental pillars in reducing the incidence of this disease.
