A Study on Malware Behavior Patterns: Signature Extraction and Anomaly Detection

Year: 2025
Type: preprint
Abstract: The widespread proliferation of malware emerges as a progressively dire threat, endangering the intricate interconnected framework. The multifaceted process of malware analysis, which serves as the focal point in this ongoing conflict, removes the layers of ambiguity that surround malicious software. The importance of malware analysis is the primary subject of this research article, which provides a comprehensive overview of the field of malware analysis. It is able to successfully navigate the complex web of approaches by putting an emphasis on the significance of cutting-edge tools and by investigating the various aspects, which makes it difficult to reach the destination of the path. The methods of static and dynamic analysis are discussed in great length in this work. These trends include the symbiotic alliance between artificial intelligence and detection strategies, the refining of behavioural scrutiny, and the collaborative ethos driving the domain of threat intelligence. This backs up the idea that researchers, developers, and policymakers need to work together to stop the spread of malicious-software. The implementation of collaborative efforts is the only way to construct a strong wall that protects our digital ecosystem from the unrelenting advance of malicious actors. This wall will withstand the relentless advance of malicious actors.
