Abstract: This study aims to analyze the role of parents in the prevention and handling of drug addiction in Aek Tapa Village, Merbau Subdistrict, North Labuhan Batu Regency. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with interviews as the primary tool for data collection. The findings indicate that the role of parents is crucial in protecting children from the dangers of drugs, both in prevention and handling efforts. Parents act as educators by providing early education about the dangers of drugs through discussions at home and real-life examples from the surrounding environment. Strict supervision of children's social interactions and activities is a key strategy in preventing negative external influences. Additionally, open communication between parents and children is essential in building trust and preventing children from feeling isolated, which is often a trigger for drug abuse. In terms of handling, parents provide significant emotional and psychological support to aid their children’s recovery process.
