Abstract: A 13-year-old girl presented with multiple asymptomatic, grouped, soft, skin-colored papules and plaques of sizes ranging from 0.5 × 0.5 cm to 3 × 5 cm in a zosteriform pattern on the right lower back for the last 6 years [Figure 1]. Clinical differentials of nevus lipomatosus superficialis, collagenoma, and shagreen patch were considered. On histopathology, the reticular dermis was superimposed with clusters of mature adipose tissues within bands of collagen fibers with sparing of the epidermis and papillary dermis [Figure 2].Figure 1: Soft skin-colored papules and plaques in zosteriform pattern on the right lower backFigure 2: Clusters of mature adipose tissue in reticular dermis (H and E, 40x)Based on clinico-histopathological correlation, a diagnosis of the classical form of nevus lipomatosus superficialis was made. Considering the benign nature of the lesion and the age of the patient, follow-up was advised without any intervention.
