Abstract: University teaching faces changing and diverse scenarios that require repeated efforts from its direct actors to improve the quality of education being provided. The research function of faculty emerges as an inevitable need to confront the variety of methods of access to the knowledge society, the new styles and scope of current communication mechanisms, which enable the generation and application of new knowledge within a disciplinary field. Current international and national educational policies determine the practice of teaching aimed at promoting scientific, technological, and innovation development. Within this context, the present research, entitled Interpretation of the Scientific Work of Faculty at the School of Humanities, Campus IV, UNACH, sought to recover the experiences of scientific work as an identity value of faculty members within the humanities area, through the identification of scientific production, its dissemination and diffusion spaces, as well as the lines of knowledge generation and application that are cultivated. Likewise, the study made it possible to understand the impact of faculty members’ scientific work experiences on students’ education. To approach this reality, it was necessary to carry out a qualitative study that, through a biographical-narrative method, described the experiences of faculty members in their scientific work and their contributions to the professionalization of teaching practice and to the academic work they perform in the training of university students.
