Abstract: Foliar fungicides are the main management strategy to striped rust (SR) by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici on susceptible wheat varieties. The objective was to evaluate the contribution of carboxamides in fungicide mixtures for SR control. The trial was carried out in a Algarrobo variety wheat crop with a randomized complete block design with four replications. The experimental unit consisted of 3x8 m plots. The fungicide treatments were applied with the crop in a node (average SR: 3.3%): T1) control, T2) pyraclostrobin + epoxiconazole 0.75 L/ha, T3) pyraclostrobin + epoxiconazole + fluxapyroxad 1.20 L/ha, T4) trifloxystrobin + prothioconazole 0.70 L/ha and T5) trifloxystrobin + prothioconazole + bixafen 0.70 L/ha. The incidence and severity of SR were determined at 15, 32 and 57 days after application and the yield at maturity, there were analyzed by mixed models. The average leaf severity (ALS) in control at Z39 (9.5%) and at Z60 (10.1%) was higher than to the chemical treatments. The ALS at Z72 was lower in T3 (1.2%) than in T2 (11.8%) and in T5 (2.1%) than in T4 (5.7%). All treatments performed better than the control. The incorporation of fluxapyroxad had a contribution to performance. Carboxamides contribute to reducing SR levels and can contribute to yield in wheat crops.
