Artificial Intelligence Applications to Enhance Signal and Power Integrity in High-Speed Systems

Year: 2025
Type: preprint
Abstract: Signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) have become more challenging to maintain as a result of the continuous expansion of high-speed electronic systems in fields like as 5G, high-performance computing, and automotive electronics. Although traditional electromagnetic simulations and optimization techniques can be accurate, they are slow and expensive. Recent developments in artificial intelligence (AI), particularly in the areas of machine learning and deep learning, present new opportunities to accelerate SI/PI analysis, prediction, and design. Crosstalk, return loss, impedance, power distribution network impedance, and voltage fluctuations may all be quickly estimated thanks to AI models' comprehension of the intricate relationships between design elements and system behavior.Decoupling capacitor placement is also made smarter by optimization techniques based on evolutionary computing and reinforcement learning.Create adaptive PDNs and combine SI and PI optimization.AI is a viable approach for future high-speed systems since it enhances dependability and cuts down on design times when added to electronic design automation (EDA) processes.
