Abstract: The impact of hydrocarbon resources on the development of the national economy has always been high. The economy of Azerbaijan, which traditionally has abundant oil and gas reserves, has always used these resources efficiently to ensure its dynamism, and they have constituted a significant part of budget revenues. In this regard, the role, importance and impact of hydrocarbon resources on the development of the national economy have become the subject of research in the article. The analysis once again proves that in the near and medium term, as before, the oil and gas resources of the republic will be important in its economic and social life, and it will maintain its investment role for a long time.
